About the Hosts
Joan Cinquegrani grew up with “Type A” tendencies. She planned family vacations from age 13, color coordinated her closet (even with her mother’s eye rolls), and continues to be the go-to person called upon to organize get-togethers for friends and family.
Armed with the experience she gained working in non-profit events for several years, Joan established Five Grain Events (which is derived from her married last name–in Italian cinque=five and grani=grains) in early 2010. Since then, Joan has worked hard to build a reputation for Five Grain Events by successfully planning and coordinating weddings and events while maintaining her firm yet kind persona.
Joan is absolutely thrilled to be partnering with Maypole Studios and Sage Wedding Pros to bring Thursday Therapy to Chicago. She looks forward to connecting with you soon!
It might have been the hand-constructed pinhole camera, maybe her dad’s 1978 Minolta 35mm, or perhaps thumbing through her grandmothers collection of black and white prints from Mexico… whatever the catalyst Bethany Fritz knew that photography was magical. She has been photographing weddings for over 10 years, and in 2008 Bethany started Maypole Studios Photography. She treasures amazing relationships her clients, making her their go-to gal for all of their photography needs as well as establishing a thriving word-of-mouth referral system. She prides herself on spending quality time with her clients to ensure comfortability with the camera as well as highly personalized images on their wedding day.
“Creating Grin-inducing, toe-tingling, love-inspired images that are just like you- forever.”
Bethany couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with Five Grain Events, helping the Chicago wedding industry be the absolute best at working together as a team.
What is Thursday Therapy?
A fun gathering for wedding pros to meet, mingle, share.
In 2007, Michelle Loretta wanted wedding pros to meet in a fun casual way without any strings attached. She began gathering Seattle wedding pros monthly for “Tuesday Toast” with the intention to toast to the industry.
In 2009, Kelly Simants took the idea to Dallas and ran with it. Here, she turned the concept into “Thursday Therapy” where it gained a life of its own. Monthly, wedding pros gather to collaborate and share in a fun, laid-back and approachable environment. There are no membership fees, you can drop in for 20 minutes if that’s all the time you can spare, and you’ll meet some really cool people in a welcoming environment.
Michelle and Kelly are Co-Owners of Sage Wedding Pros, a consultancy dedicated to educating small business owners. The company’s mission is to create sustainable business in the wedding and events industries. Thursday Therapy is a branch of Sage Wedding Pros.
